What is responsive design?

Responsive design means items on your website cna rearrange themselves and change shape and size to fit the screen they are being viewed on.  It means one website for all devices - no squinting, no scrolling sideways, no zooming in to see the content.

Diferent sized screensMore and more people are browsing the web on their phones.  They want to be able to use your website on that tiny screen in the palm of their hand.  Make it easy for them!  Design your site to look good and work well at any size.

Why not have a separate mobile site?

That's better than a single non-resonsive site, but only marginally.

  1. Google ranks responsive sites higher
  2. It means maintaining 2 sites
  3. If you mobile site doesn't have all the content of your main site, your users are missing out
